Why Hydration Matters Before and After XERF™

Great skin isn't just about what we do on the outside. It's also about how we support skin health from within.

At HollaceMD, we believe great aesthetic care goes beyond the treatment room. As we introduce XERF™ Structural Skin Tightening, we're also exploring an important part of the broader skin health conversation: hydration.

Understanding XERF™

XERF is an advanced radiofrequency (RF) treatment designed to address skin laxity by delivering controlled energy at different tissue depths. Using two RF frequencies, 6.78 MHz and 2 MHz, XERF creates controlled heating that stimulates collagen contraction and remodeling, with improvements developing progressively over time.

The Role of Hydration in Skin Health

Water is a major component of our tissues and influences their electrical properties. During a XERF™ treatment, radiofrequency energy interacts with tissue to generate controlled heat at targeted depths. Because tissue water content contributes to these electrical properties, hydration is part of the broader science behind how RF energy interacts with the body.

Adequate hydration also supports normal skin function, including the skin barrier. Dehydration can leave skin feeling tight or rough and make fine lines appear more noticeable. Well-hydrated skin may look smoother, softer and more radiant.

Hydration is one part of the picture. Nutrition, sleep, sun protection, skincare and other lifestyle factors also contribute to overall skin health.

Hydration Before Your Treatment

Proper hydration is an important part of overall wellness, especially when preparing for an energy-based treatment. Travel, exercise, hot weather and busy schedules can make it challenging to stay adequately hydrated.

Considering XERF™ or another energy-based treatment? If you're interested in additional hydration support, an IV drip within the 24 hours before your appointment may be an option to discuss with a qualified provider. IV fluids deliver hydration directly into the bloodstream and can help address fluid deficits when appropriate.

Through our partnership with Hydrate Medical, HollaceMD patients can explore exclusive IV drip specials and discover hydration options tailored to their wellness needs.
