FAQs

Laser skin resurfacing uses controlled, non-ablative fractional laser energy to create a targeted thermal effect within the skin. This process stimulates collagen production, accelerates cellular turnover, and improves pigmentation, tone, and overall clarity. At HollaceMD, we use LaseMD Ultra as part of a comprehensive, layered approach—refining surface-level concerns and optimizing epidermal quality while complementing deeper, collagen-stimulating treatments for more complete results.
LaseMD Ultra is also an effective stand-alone treatment, particularly for improving sun damage and early precancerous changes such as actinic keratoses, helping to restore healthier skin and reduce the risk of progression.

RF microneedling is one of the most effective ways to improve skin at a deeper level. It uses ultra-fine needles to create controlled microchannels while delivering radiofrequency energy into the dermis, stimulating collagen and elastin production. This helps tighten skin, improve texture, and address concerns like acne scars, fine lines, and skin laxity. At HollaceMD, we use Genius RF microneedling for its precision and ability to deliver consistent, natural-looking results.
-
RF microneedling delivers controlled radiofrequency energy through insulated needles into the dermis, creating precise zones that stimulate collagen and elastin remodeling, improve skin laxity, and strengthen structural integrity. LaseMD Ultra, a non-ablative fractional laser, targets the epidermis and superficial dermis—creating a controlled thermal effect that accelerates cellular turnover, reduces irregularity in skin color, and helps the skin look more even, clear, and refreshed.
When combined, these modalities treat the skin at multiple depths—addressing both dermal remodeling and epidermal renewal—resulting in more comprehensive correction, improved skin quality, and more refined, balanced outcomes.

Downtime is typically minimal to moderate. Most patients experience redness for a few days after RF microneedling, with LaseMD adding very little additional downtime. We tailor your treatment plan based on your schedule and comfort level.
-
For RF microneedling, a series of three treatments spaced about 4–6 weeks apart is typically recommended for optimal results. LaseMD Ultra is often incorporated alongside these treatments to enhance results, improve skin tone, and support ongoing skin health.

Skin with more natural pigment requires a thoughtful, customized approach—especially when it comes to lasers, peels, and energy-based treatments. One of the most common concerns we see in deeper skin tones is post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), where the skin can temporarily darken after irritation or injury.
That doesn’t mean you’re limited in your options—it just means your treatments should be selected and performed with greater precision.
At our practice, we tailor every treatment based on your individual skin characteristics, including how your skin responds to heat, light, and inflammation. In medicine, this is often guided by systems like the Fitzpatrick skin type, but more importantly, it’s informed by clinical experience and careful assessment.

With LaseMD Ultra, you may notice brighter, more even-looking skin within 3–7 days as the skin begins to renew.
With RF microneedling, initial changes can be seen around 2–3 weeks, with more noticeable improvement at 4–6 weeks as collagen production increases. Results continue to improve over 8–12 weeks.
When combined, you’ll often see earlier surface-level improvement from the laser, followed by deeper, more meaningful changes over time as the skin strengthens and rebuilds.
